Many people do not plan their vacations and I have to admit some of them turn out fairly well, however most do not. A good vacation for instance is you get on the road and after traveling for 10 hours you want to stop and get a room for the night, but you cannot find any because they are filled up.

For instance if they have 100 rooms the first 20 that they book are the cheapest for the day, and the next 20 are slightly higher an as they get to the last 20 they are usually off the chart or cost well over $100.00 just to sleep for a few hours. The tip here Is if your destination takes more than a day to get there you better pick a spot before you leave home and book your room so you are guaranteed a place to stop for the night, especially on holiday weekends.

If you plan on flying to your destination and are a frequent flyer the best things is to book your flight as early as possible to get the cheapest flight you possibly can. One of the biggest problems of flying today is you have to leave early as they not only check your baggage but every nook and cranny on individuals these days. I even have been told that the new metal detectors you have to walk through show you bone naked to whoever is watching.

Many people travel to Disney World each year spending thousands of dollars on the park, food, shopping, and accommodations and of course some souvenirs of their holiday travels to show off to their friends when they get home. You should plan on how much the cost of the trip is before you go so your assets do not run out on you before your vacation does. Not everyone travels to fancy hotels or resorts or even large attraction locations like Disney World or Universal Studios. While we were on vacation in Williamsburg Virginia and after doing Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens and still having a 5 days left on our vacation we started looking around for other things to do other than sitting around in our resort for the rest of our vacation.

One thing was that unfortunately we had extremely high temperatures reaching over 100 degrees her in Williamsburg Virginia and even though they had a pool at our resort where we could cool down, we decided to go to water country usA where you not only could cool down but had tons of things to do there as well.

We then discovered a movie theater in NewTown that offers a special on Tuesdays. You can go to any show for only $5.00 a person all day long, except the 3D movies. Having seen most of the movies they were offering we decided to see the The Last Exorcist. Wanting to take advantage of the $5.00 ticket deal my wife and I decided to go see the movie after watching the trailer or sample of the movie on the internet.

I am going to start right off by saying on a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the best rating I would give this so called movie a minus 1. I actually asked for my $10.00 bucks back after the so called movie that was nothing more than a phony documentary. They refused us a refund because we stayed for the entire show.

The first disappointment was that it was not a movie at all. The entire show was more like a documentary and just another attack on Christianity. If I want to watch documentaries I will watch them on TV for free and when I go to a movie theater I pay to see a movie not to be brain washed.
Some people in the movie industry are continuously trying to brain wash people that Preachers are nothing more than con artists and that satan is more powerful than God. Which is really a mind blowing thing because their real claim is there is no God? Also satan does not want any attention because if you believe he is real than you have no choice but acknowledge God the creator.

The first preacher claims he does not believe in God but gets a good pay check by deceiving his congregation. He then makes a statement that Jesus was an exorcist and then in a later statement says that he does not believe in exorcism which puts into your mind that Jesus was as phony as he is.

He then has a camera crew document how gullible his congregation really is at one of his weekly preaching session. This puts across how stupid that congregation was and that people of God will believe in anything and that preachers are nothing more than con artists and liars, which this guy is and proud of it.

The second so called preacher in the move turned out to be a devil worshiper, and the documentary implied that he had sex with and under aged girl, and when the baby was born he sacrificed it in a fire to the devil. The entire documentary was an attack on the people who preach the good news, Christians themselves and even on God himself. This kind of show confuses people and is nothing more than disinformation and propaganda
.
Organizations are taking Christianity out of our schools claiming there is no God and it’s offensive while introducing other religions to our children like evolution that is without one ounce of evidence behind it or some kind of other foreign religions based on a God of some other country.

While I was on vacation sitting in my resort meditating on how stupid I was for sitting through that entire documentary I just wondered how long the so called Christians in this country are going to continue turning the other cheek and remain silent while others blaspheme their God and take over what God has given them, which is freedom of religion.

Wouldn’t it make sense that if you are offended that this country being founded on Christianity by Christians and nothing else to ask yourself why did you bother coming here in the first place?

So then one thing we learned while on vacation is that things that you normally do at home should not be done on a vacation. Vacation time is a time for relaxing and new adventures that you can dwell upon with great delight the entire year.

The first day at the resort I was tired because of the driveling and all the traffic we got into on the way to Williamsburg. After arriving I decided that we would spend the rest of the day in the resort. Our consigner gave us a bunch of brochures so we could order in.

So after getting settled into our resort we order in and sat down to relax and watch some television. While going through the channels I stopped on this move about Native Americans. Throughout the entire move the Military kept going after these Native Americans and either captured them and put them or reservations or slaughtered them. Which to many people would perceive the Indians to be the bad guys.

Another thing I noticed was that the Indians blamed (what they called the white people) white eyes for going to war and the taking of their lands. Also they blamed the white eyes for breaking all the treaties that were made between the white man and the Indians which was mostly the truth. So while laying around in the resort I started thinking what they were trying to get across in this move because there is a lot of brainwashing going on with some of these shows. The idea that I was getting from this show was the Indians just didn’t like white people so they killed them on site.

There was no part in the movie about the buffalo that were slaughtered by the thousands for their hides and the meat that was left in the sun to rot. By the way this was the Indians main source of food and shelter. Or any of the other atrocities done to the people by you know who.

My wife wanted to go shopping while we were in Williamsburg because they have one of the best shopping malls you will ever wonder through there. That is not my forte so while she was shopping I went to the library to do a little research. And here are some of the conclusions I have come up with after watching that movie and a fair amount of research.

The first thing is that not only were the white eyes as they call them attacking and killing them but a lot were killed by Mexico as well, so they were not only at war with the white man. When Indians were being pursued by troops they would flee across the border into Mexico and attached there as well and they were certainly not white eyes.

It seemed that the only people that had any real concern for the plight of our native Americans were the people of Canada. Many tribes crossed the border and were allowed to stay there and hunt if they did not bother the other tribes which fled the persecution as well.

They also claimed that the white eyes were liars and broke all the treaties with the Indians which mostly the. But the real truth is that it was the government that broke all the treaties and was the liars as we well know today as that is all the white man gets now.

But what hit home the most is that is was the government that took away everything these people had and made them go to an area where they did not want to be and forced an entire people who were truly free to become farmers which most of them hated. They were hunters and love it and were proud to provide for their families their way. This in my opinion was real slavery as it enslaved an entire people.

The point being while staying at the resort I was thinking about how much it cost me in dollars to get away from the everyday drag and have some fun. But I realized it cost an entire people much more than a few worthless Federal Reserve notes to stay on their land.

While you are on vacation take some time and think of what is being taken away from you as a people and who is taking it away. I have to say at least the Native Americans fought the best they could to protect their freedom, so I asked myself what am I doing to protect the little freedom we have left and maybe you should ask yourself the same question?

Whether you are at a hotel, resort or camping take some time and think how lucky you really are to able to be there, it may be your last.

Some others get on a bus with about fifty others who they may or may not know, because it is probably the cheapest way to get to many travel destinations here in the states. This is ok if you do not mind to spending some quality time alone with your family or you are single and going just with friends. This is also a good way to meet new people if you like traveling in groups.

Many people who want to spend some quality vacation time with their families travel by car. This way they can be close with their families and can talk freely about private family affairs to keep themselves busy while traveling all those boring miles to wherever their travel destination is.

But many people who are planning their vacation do not think of going by train. Partly because when you are looking for a vacation package you seldom find any with train travel included. For some reason it is not the most popular way of traveling but in some instances it could be the most fun. You can do many things a train you cannot do with other means of travel.

For instance the entire family can take part in conversations, games and just talking without having to concentrate on the road or worrying about where the next turn they have to make or even getting stuck in traffic or even worse than that getting in an accident or braking down somewhere on the side of the road.

Unlike a bus, car or plane you are not crowded and can get up and take a nice long walk through the different cars to stretch your legs without having to stop and waste time at rest areas. If you want to be alone with your family you can move to a different car with less people in it. With some trains you can even bring your car with you so you don’t have to rent one when you get to your travel destination. Even though you may have to spend more time traveling it may be worth it if spending more time with your family is the main goal of your vacation.

Even though it may take a little longer to get to your travel destination your vacation starts as soon as you get on the train. Not only can you start enjoying each other’s company right away by having some great conversations, but everyone can play different kinds of family games as well without any thought of where you are going and how to get there.

Some other really cool benefits of traveling by train are that many offer a movie car where the entire family can kill some of those boring miles by watching a move. Or if they have a dining car you can eat a wonderful meal without having to stop and waste a lot of down time. If you are traveling with children you know how many times you have to stop for bathroom breaks, not a problem on the train as they usually have at least one.

You can bring several things along to keep your children from getting to board along the way. With all the technology we have today like an electronic checker board game, something to read or even a portable cd so they can watch some of their favorite movies, or an ipod so they can listen to their favorite songs. You can even bring a laptop computer along which offers all of the above and more.

So the bottom line is that it may take a little longer to get where you are traveling to by train, but with all the activities you and your children have available to do it may seem like you got to your travel destination a lot quicker.

After a couple days in Sigatoka, you might take a ride to Nadi to see the Sri Siva Subramaniya Temple. This religious site is amazing and the architecture is just beautiful. Then it is off to Suva for The Fiji Museum with exhibits dating back over three thousand years. This is the oldest museum around the South Pacific. A favorite in Suva is the flea market called the Suva Municipal Market. This is a festive area and they have something for everyone to enjoy. Of course, you cannot forget the Parliament with its government building with an orange color. The Albert Park is another place to see before moving on to the other areas of Fiji.

Your cheap holidays to Fiji are just getting exciting. You can visit the Garden of the Sleeping Giant in Nausori. This is amazing to see. There are so many orchids, over two thousand types and was originally started by Perry Mason star Raymond Burr. This place is amazing and it shows his much devoted love and attention to orchids. As you might remember, he was a man who loved to give orchids on his television shows. You do not want to miss this attraction in Fiji.

After a few days of this area of Fiji, you might enjoy your cheap holidays in Fiji by visiting Taveuni Island. The Bouma National Heritage Park is a great place to visit and walk around the rainforest. You can hike or do some swimming. Yes, the water is safe to swim. You will not see any creatures popping out. The Lavena Costal Walk is a true nature trail that shows you the wild side of the island area as well as the black sands and awesome forests. You are going to enjoy spending a few days here.

The one place your cheap holidays in Fiji take you is the Taveuni Island’s beautiful Tavoro Waterfalls. You can spend the entire day in this part of the world and have peace and tranquility. The three different waterfalls have different levels of altitude and are so beautiful to watch all day. After you have had your fill of daytime activities, sit and relax with a drink from one of the local club and lounges. You will find the tropical drinks are superb, but hold it down to just a few. You want to enjoy the outdoors the next day while enjoying your cheap holidays in Fiji.

So if you are the kind of person who does not like leaving his car all alone at home while you are on vacation you need to keep it in good working order. You are probably are going with your entire family; so in order to keep them as safe as possible on the road making sure your automobile is in good working condition will help make your vacation more enjoyable.

There are two main things that could put your family at risk and should be the first things to check, which are tires and brakes. You should also make sure you have an emergency kit with at least these items, flashlight, some non perishable foods, some water also a pair of jumper cables and then you can put all that worry behind you as you will know you are prepared for just about anything.

I lived there for fifteen years and everyone that came to Florida to pay me a visit drove me crazy until I took them to either Disney World, Universal Studio’s, Sea Word or Busch Gardens. I was so sick of going to those parks at least once a week that I finally gave up and when we got visitors from up north I just gave them the keys to my car and said have a blast. Yes I wanted to spend time with my friends but those places almost had me broke because we were going all the time.

My family loved going to Orlando Florida for the weekend to get away because we worked a business out of our home and the phone never stopped ringing for one thing or another. So we would pack our bags every Friday night and take off before we go involved in more work. We just wanted to get away to enjoy each other’s company.

Being burned out going to theme parks all the time we decided to see what else Orlando Florida had to offer and over the next few weeks we found some really great thing to do. One place close to Orlando was the Kennedy Space Center. We got to take a look at a space shuttle on the staging area that was getting ready to launch. We went into the space center itself and got a tour of interesting artifacts and the training station and lots more. I bought the coolest pen I ever seen that was used while in space and after 20 years I am still using it today.

If you want to live one of your childhood fantasies you can do it in Orlando Florida, by taking an Orlando Sunrise Hot air balloon ride. It will certainly wake you up and get you going for the day as they take you over some beautiful lakes and forests which will be the heights of your weekend getaway. You will be able to see all the sights and Orlando in a way you can never experience it on the ground. You will be traveling over some of the theme parks and many of the orange groves of Florida; of course it depends on which way the wind is blowing.

How about a swim with some Manatees in Crystal River which are endangered spices? These Indian manatees are like water cows and are very gentle. You can take an air-boat ride through the everglades and meet up with some of Florida’s wildlife like it’s never been seen before. By the way if you do not like air-boat rides which some people do not, you can do the same trip in your own vehicle. So in a nut shell here is what you get on this adventure, A 90 minute narrated boat ride, all you can eat breakfast, picnic lunch at Crystal River, 45 minute air-boat adventure to see the manatees feeding, bears, alligators, hippo and panthers. All I can say is it was one great adventure.

It is not hard to find a Dixie Stampede dinner show as they have them at many of your favorite travel destinations. There is one in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee that was the first one that opened in1988 just out sited DollyWood Theme Park. It is owned by Dolly Parton and her Dollywood company.

Dixie Stampede being a huge success her company decided to open at three other locations which are in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina which was opened in1992 which was the second one opened and then in 1995 the opened one in Branson Missouri in 1995. And finally they opened one in they opened a fourth one in Orlando Florida in 2003. If it would have been me

I personally would have opened the one in Orlando Florida second as there are more people vacationing in Florida than any other state. There were already many other dinner shows that were very successful there so it would have been a guaranteed success as everyone love Dolly Parton.

If you want my option they probably would be very successful opening a Dolly Wood theme park in Orlando Florida. My guess is it would perform better than the one in Pigeon Forge because they have people traveling to Orlando Florida all year long. The cost of the park is only half of what the others in town would cost and there would be a lot of locals flocking there as well.

If you love blue grass music which many people do then that is another reason to go Dixie Stampede besides the good food. One thing worth mentioning is that if you are going in hopes to see Dolly Parton at one of these Dixie Stampedes you better forget it. Although it bears her name is Dolly Parton is not there in person having a very large agenda.

The show is all about the Wild West and if you love westerns you will love this. They pit the North and South against each other for a horse riding competition and they get so close to the stage you have to watch out getting dirt in your food while watching the show.

If you like horses you will be amazed to find out that the Dixie Stampede show boast 32 horses. They are made up of Appaloosas, Painted Horses, Palomino and the famous Quarter horses and you may also find a few pigs and chickens running around as well, and let’s not forget about the very large cast.

And after a wonderful dinner and a great show when you leave Dixie Stampede you get to exit through a gift shop where you can get yourself or one of the family a souvenir of the occasion. Finally after you have left the building you will be able to meet and talk to the cast, and many of the animals of the show. What a wonderful way to end a day while on vacation.

Disney World is not a cheap place to go any more. About 10 years ago you could spend an entire weekend there for about $100.00 for two people but not anymore. If you are lucky and find some discount ticket offer or go on a timeshare presentation for a couple of tickets it will still cost you a minimum of 200.00. There are some package deals offered by vendors that you can get that offer tickets and accommodations for as little as $ 300.00 bucks but you still have to pay for everything else.

One smart trick you should know when planning a Disney World vacation is you should plan on taking it in the off season. You will run into less traffic on the road, Disney Park will be less crowded and if you time it right a lot of restaurants and hotels offer off season prices.

If you are traveling with more than two people like a group or you have a lot of small one’s with you don’t eat in the park, or at least limit the amount of meals you eat inside the park. If you are in a resort cook you own food that you should bring with you. If in a hotel have some pizza delivered to your hotel room. For 10 bucks you can feed the entire family for at least one meal.

Also before you go make sure you have a budget for how much money you will be spending on each person for food, tickets, accommodations and then try to stick to that budget so you do not run out of money on your Disney World Vacation. This will help you when you get to Florida as there are many other things to do there that might catch your attention and lead you astray from keeping within your budget.

One of the first things that astonished me the first time I went to Disney World is the many features that make this more than your average theme park. A few are the celebrations that are always going on there like their spectacular anniversary celebration. Magic Kingdom offers you seven different lands to go to with all kinds of rides and different attractions for all ages with all kinds of special events throughout the entire year. A brewer in St Louis invested in the area after negations with the Rockefellers who were the mentor of the Colonial Williamsburg and a few of the Busch family. The water park was acquired by A_B sometime in the nineteen nineties and also added Sea World properties that were located in different states.

In an effort to balance out the economy they were also credited with helping out with the development of Greater Williamsburg, Jamestown, Colonial Williamsburg and Yorktown along with other attractions.

As you may well know if you have visited Busch Garden Theme Park there is so much to see and do you could not possible get the full benefit of this park by only going one day. You will enjoy the more then I million twinkling lights while enjoying fresh bake cookies and a visit to Santa’s work shop.

You bet you will receive a safe and enjoyable experience at Busch Gardens because of all the work they put in to accessibility for those who need assistance or renting strollers or any other kind of mobility issue. If you need to rent a electronic convenience vehicle to enjoy the park the have it covered for you.

They have this new thing at Busch Gardens call the Touch and Go that allows you to get into the park by inserting you seasonal pass and touching a scanner. This thing uses your finger prints to make calculations that are unique to you. I believe you have to give up your finger prints and after that it is a matter of touching the scanner. Great way for the government to get finger prints of everyone in the country don’t you think. By the way there is a well know bank that pulls the same kind of trickery to get you listed in the finger print bank.

Busch Gardens has been voted the clear winner of the Choice Awards, winning 9 out of 17 different categories by Theme Parks Magazine. While the European park as had three of the top ten roller coasters. They were also awarded for best live entertainment, cleanest park, best food, and best events. Also other awards were Golden Tickets Award, Best Landscaping and has won these every year starting as early as 1998.

They also other amenities like picnic areas situated in each and every parking area as food is not allowed in the park. They have pet care which is provided in the England parking area because they do not allow pets in the park. They have a charge of 10 bucks a pet and all day 7 dollar fee for the pass members. It is the responsibility of the pet owner to bring food to their pets, but fresh water is provided by the attendants.

The park has a smoking policy and is committed to a safe environment. Now they know there are a lot of people that still enjoy smoking so they provided smoking stations through the entire park. They are all outside fasciitis and do not allow any smoking inside any buildings at all. Most of these sites are found next to the restroom areas.
Along with some of the other rules the do have an attire policy. Because it is a family oriented theme park they require you at Busch Gardens to wear appropriate clothing. Which is the usually clothes like shorts or some kind of rap if you are wearing a bathing suit. They will remove you from the park if you are running around half naked because of the children.

We did not go into to much of the parks details about all the adventures at Busch Gardens because it is an adventure you will want to discover on your own. Oh and all you vets out there don’t forget to ask for your discount you deserve it.

I did not really want to go to the water park while we were visiting Williamsburg but I soon changed my mind once we got there. I was truly impressed with this water park. You can get directions at all the crossing leading you to the assorted rides. The food is costly, but what do you expect when you eat out at these kind of places? You can buy a souvenir cup and get it refilled all day and you can even bring it back another day and they will still refill it. And get this we also discovered that some people brought them to Busch Gardens and the refilled them there as well, tell me if that’s not a deal.

If you want to get some of those water shoes I recommend getting them somewhere else besides water country. You can buy them at any sporting goods store for only 8 dollars compared to paying 14 dollars at the water park. They are really comfortable and feel really good on your feet. My wife did not want me to purchase them, but she said she was happy that I did as her feet were protected as she wondered around the park all day.

While I was at the store we also purchased a waterproof armband contraption that we could put our personal thing in like our driver’s license, some cash we had, paper tickets and our room key to our hotel. I put it around my neck where I could keep an eye on it and didn’t have to worry if it got wet or lost.

We did not ware our clothes there just our bathing suites and cover ups. Even though we brought quite a few things with us like our bag, towels, and most importantly our sun screen we left everything out in the open on our chairs because people did not seemed interested in anything but having a fun day at the water park.

The entire family had a blast at Water Country USA. We went in August and it was way too hot to do anything else in Williamsburg during the day. The wave pool was awesome and kept us entertained and cool as we relaxed in it all that day. Our children did the water slides and even the wait was not too long even though it was somewhat crowded that day. Once we acquired a place to put our things we stayed in the water just about the entire day

Even though I was somewhat uncomfortable leaving our things out where anyone could have taken them had I know that I could have rented a cabanas it would have been great that I wouldn’t have had to keep my eye on our things all day.
The food was really pricy there as we spent $18.00 for 2 hot dogs and a small bag of chips. I wish they would let us bring coolers in the water park. It would be a great place to have a picnic, but we just went out to the car and grabbed a sandwich and wet back in the park as we were parked fairly close

Everyone we seen there was having a wonderful time except for one couple who was complaining about a couple who brought food into the park when no one else was allowed to. They brought in loaf of bread and jar of peanut butter and jelly packets making sandwiches next to them while they had to eat a purchased lunch. To make it worse their kids were allergic to peanuts and they were afraid that their kids would wind up with some of it and have to go to the hospital. They really got upset when they told security about it and their reply was you don’t want us to interrupt their lunch do you? I guess their security team doesn’t take life threatening food allergies as being serious.

• Other than that I had one of the greatest vacations I have had in a long time and even though it cost a fortune I would like to thank Busch Gardens and Water Country USA for a wonderful time at their parks.

Nearly everyone has heard of Colonial Williamsburg. Costumed interpreters, carriage rides and Revolutionary War musket drills spring to mind directly with the name. But Colonial Williamsburg is a big place, and there’s much more to see after you’ve enjoyed the cannon demonstration and checked out some historic trades. Here are just a few things you might not think to look for.
1. “Breeding Rare Chickens”
Colonial Williamsburg’s extensive Rare Breeds Program includes four varieties of chickens. They are: Dorking Chickens, Dominique Chickens, Hamburg Chickens, and English Game Fowl. Interestingly, Dominique Chickens were one of the first breeds developed in the United States. English Game Fowl, as their name suggests, were originally bred for cock fighting, and tend to display unusual strength, agility and aggression; however they are also prized for their high-quality meat and eggs.

2. “Courtroom Drama”
Various evening programs reenact or recreate Colonial courts of law. You might even be able to join the jury! For example, “The Virginia Witch” presents a famous witchcraft trial, and “Courage or Cowardice” is taken from a 1779 court of inquiry concerning a Virginia officer who took his men and left his post in the face of a British attack.

3. “The Ins and Outs of Eating”
The Historic Foodways program offers all kinds of interesting presentations concerning food preparation in colonial times. They research and recreate historic foods and techniques, operating the Governor’s Palace Kitchens and the Payton Randolph Kitchens. “From Hog to Ham” is a regularly scheduled program on butchery and curing. They also offer programs on brewing and chocolate-making.

4. “Serious Business”
Visitors can engage in a more “traditional” museum experience by visiting the DeWitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum and the Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Folk Art Museum. Extensive collections include a wide range of objects from Colonial to current. Some of the items represented there include paintings and sculpture, furniture, outdoor folk art, textiles, pottery currency and musical instruments. Would-be visitors can browse and search a small sample of the collections on Colonial Williamsburg’s website by selecting EMUSEUM ONLINE. The John D. Rockefeller Jr. Library is also open to the public, and is only a few blocks’ walk from the historic area. Their collection includes more than 50,000 rare manuscripts and is a wealth of architectural and archeological documents related to the Foundation’s historic buildings. The library’s knowledgeable public services staff can help you make good use of the collections, indexes, databases and other library materials. Researchers can even contact the library to schedule a personal orientation in advance.

5. “Colonial Starbucks?”
In 2009, Colonial Williamsburg reconstructed R. Charlton’s Coffee House on its original 18th century site. Right across from the Capitol, it drew the political protesters of the day, just like any coffee shop in a college town does now! A significant political protest of the Stamp Act took place on the building’s front steps. Visitors can stop in and meet “Mr. and Mrs. Charlton” and try a sample of authentically-made coffee, chocolate or tea.

Busch Gardens in Williamsburg has been a great family destination for decades, with something for everyone: arcades, coasters, carnival games, shows and shopping. But in recent years, the park has become even more inviting to families with younger children. Throughout the park, the “Kidsiderate” designation appears on signs and maps to indicate rides such as “The Little Gilders” and “Elephant Run” that are appropriate for children under age 10. Families planning to vacation with small children can also visit the park’s website and consult the height charts from home, so the kids know ahead of time which rides they’ll be able to enjoy.

In recent years, Busch Gardens has expanded its offerings for younger children and their parents by adding the Sesame Street: Forests of Fun, an area with family-friendly rides and movies, and plenty of space to play. The rides are kid-friendly versions of larger Busch Gardens attractions. The area is conveniently located close to the front of the park (right beside England) making it an easier trip for strollers and short legs. The section has been designed with only one entrance/exit to help parents keep track of their little ones.

The area features several family-friendly rides, designed so that very small children can ride with parents or teenage siblings, while grade-schoolers can ride solo if they wish. Some of these rides are even fun for the adults. “Bert and Ernie’s Loch Adventure” is a flume ride that parents and children can ride together. The ride is slow and gentle, appropriate for parents who want to ride with very small children and for kids who prefer not to get jostled too much. “Grover’s Alpine Express” is a sleigh-themed junior coaster. The ride is 600 feet long and 24 feet tall. It has enough dips and dives to be a fun ride even for the parents, without being way too much for the kids. “Oscar’s Whirly Worms” is a rock-and-tug ride which involves lots of spinning. “Prince Elmo’s Spire” is a family-friendly drop tower.

“Elmo’s Castle” has an interactive stage and a big wet play area with shallow splash pools and fountains. “Oscar’s Yucky Forest” is a dry play area with lots of rubberized equipment, where the kids can run free, chase and bounce around. Parents can also pre-register for a buffet-style meal attended by Elmo, Big Bird and other Sesame Street characters. The all-you-can-eat menu includes lots of kiddie favorites like chicken nuggets and hot dogs, as well as plenty of adult choices such as salads and fajitas. The characters sing and dance and interact with the diners. Lots of kids that think they are “too old” for Sesame Street will still get a kick out of seeing Big Bird or Cookie Monster up close. Kids can be photographed with their favorite Sesame characters in the “1-2-3 Smile With Me” photo studio. There is also a family-friendly film show in “4-D” starring Sesame Street characters and involving visual and sensory effects. Kids can also part with their pocket money in the area’s themed gift shop, “Abby Cadabby’s Treasure Trove”.

Sesame Street: Forests of Fun is a solid addition to the kid-friendly offerings at Busch Gardens. Add it to the various kid-friendly rides scattered across the park, and the Land of the Dragons play area, and kids are bound to find something fun to do. Some of the new family-friendly rides might make it fun for the parents too!

Taking any kind of vacation today can be a costly proposition if you do not plan it right and steer away from things you can do anytime at home. What I mean is why would anyone want to go on vacation and go to the movies? Movies are becoming more costly every day and almost as much as going to a theme park at your favorite vacation destination.

You can wait a month or so and then rent the movie at home for only $ 4.99 and if you are a family of 5 you can save $ 24.00 just off the ticket prices. Another big saving is the refreshments. Why in the world would anyone want to pay $6.00 for a soda? You can get 24 cans of soda at your favorite shopping mall on sale for 5 bucks. You have to pay over 5 bucks for a box of candy when can get 5 boxes of the same candy at the dollar tree for 1.00 dollar a box,  and the pop corn it outrageous as well.

Yes they have to make money at these places but let’s get real; there is a difference in making money then ripping people off. They do not have to make 400 percent on every item they sell. Everyone is brain washed in believing that to have a fun time at the movies you need to be eating something. Eat at home before you go to the movies and just enjoy the show if you can’t wait till it comes out on video cd or rent it in your resort or hotel room for one price.

Another thing I cannot understand is why do people want to go shopping while they are vacationing? If you are a working person and get off on Friday for the weekend, you can shop till you drop anytime. I can pretty well bet that if you go to a resort location or one of your favorite travel spots the stores there have the same items you can get where you live. All the junk they are selling is from some foreign country who has stolen your job and they get your money and you get their junk.  In many vacation areas the stores sell the same items for a higher premium because of the traffic they get and the higher cost of the stores rent they have to pay.

So to my way of thinking we have been conditioned to believe these are part of a vacation package. The truth is doing things that you cannot normally do while you are in your home area is what vacationing is all about. Like going to Disney World- SeaWorld-Universal Studios or some kind of water park or even DollyWood or how about a day at the beach. Spending the entire time with your family having a few days away from the normal is really what vacationing is all about.

How it works is  you give us about an hour and a half of your time to show you our resort and tell you about the benefits of timeshare ownership. All tours in this section require at mimun of 7 days advance notice. A charge of $ 99.00 will be required to process your vacation and is refundable if your reservations can not be made. After your vacation has been secured you must give a 72 hour advance notice if you have to cancell for any reason or you will be charged back for the room that has been reserved for you. The $99.00 dollar service charge wiill not be refunded if there is a cancellation.

Vacation ownership, is timesharing of a condominium unit or apartment for usually a week. There are 52 weeks in a year and you can purchase as many weeks as you like and usually any week of the year.

The weeks are based on colors and the color red is the most expensive weeks of the 52 week period.  The most expensive and sort after weeks are  July and December.

The time purchased also can be expressed in terms of "points," a currency that is used to establish value for seasons, unit sizes, and resort locations. The vacation ownership interest often will include a deeded interest in real estate.

Also another cost factor are the prices according to the size of the unit, resort amenities, location, and season of use. In addition, owners pay an annual maintenance fee to help maintain the property, as well as the quality and future value of the resort.

Couples are asked to bring their drivers’ licenses showing their matching addresses. If this is not available, a legal document such as mortgage, lease, utility bill or check book that links the couple together financially is acceptable. Couples are required to attend the full 90-minute sales presentation together.

Question: Why must we have a major credit card?

Answer: We offer gifts to credit worthy people to tour our resort and use major credit cards for identification purposes only. We do not accept debit cards for identification because anyone can put a small amount of money in a checking account and get a debit card. This does in no way show if you are a credit worthy person or not.

Question: Why do we have to have matching addresses?

Answer: Although anyone may gladly take a tour, we only gift Married couples – Cohabitating Couples and Significant Other couples. Many people travel as a couple    ( boyfriends girl friends & people who are not even together but are not the kind of couples that we accept as couples) and we require some kind documentation that you are life couples that are living together.

Question: How long do the tours last?

Answer: Your presenter will take approximately 90 minutes to go through his presentation. It may take longer depending on how many times he is stopped to answer any questions you may have through your presentation.

Question: What will happen if we do not bring the documents that are required?

Answer: If you do not have the correct documents that you claimed you had or you forgot you matching id or major credit card when you left home do not waste your time going to the resort. They require this information and will not let you tour without it. Not bringing you information with you will void your reservation invitation. Why ruin your vacation by going over there for nothing, under no circumstances will you be able to tour without the required documents.

Question: When will we get our gifts?

Answer: All complementary gifts will be given after your tour presentation and never in advance of your tour of the resort.

4. All prospects must take a presentation at the resort’s sales center lasting approximately ninety (90-120) minutes, and remain on the tour for at least 90 minutes. Couples and unmarried domestic partners must attend the sales presentation together.
5. Prospects must not have participated in any other VSA sponsored sales promotion within the previous 24 months.
6. Prospects must be fully and accurately informed as to the details of any premiums or other promotional program used to induce Prospects to visit VSA facilities.
7. Prospects must receive a written confirmation of their appointment to tour, which includes details of their participation in any promotion offered (hereinafter “Promotional Details”).

Entry-Level Telemarketer: Entry-Level Telemarketers start the home-based telemarketing process, making calls from leads provide by Oasis Marketing Group from your home or business, and receive $75 per qualified family that completes a tour.

Certified Telemarketer: Once you have completed 30 days with Oasis Marketing Group as an Entry-Level Telemarketer & achieved at least 10 qualified prospects complete a tour, you will become a Certified Telemarketer and receive $100 per qualified family that completes a tour. As a Certified Telemarketer, you can begin recruiting Associated & Entry-Level Telemarketers, and because of that you receive an override on those individuals production. (Example: If you bring on an Associate and the Associate has a qualified tour, their commission is $50 and because you are a Certified Telemarketer, you receive $50. How do I get paid?
OMG representatives are independent contractors. The pay cycle runs Monday through Sunday, and your pay for any families that qualify for and complete their tour, will be distributed on the second Tuesday following the close of the pay period.

Using this calendar as an example, all qualified families that tour during the Monday 1st - Sunday 7th period will be paid to you on Tuesday the 16th.

What is an Independent Contractor?
As an independent contractor, you will receive all the benefits of owning your own business... You are your own boss, you are typically paid more than a standard employee, and you can take increased business deductions for things such as internet, telephone, cell phone, clothing, vehicle-related expenses, etc.

What is an OPC?
An OPC is a marketing representative that contacts potential resort guests at designated locations such as restaurants, hotels and shopping centers, to invite families to preview a particular resort property that we represent. Each OPC will offer gifts & incentives to entice families to attend a resort presentation lasting approximately 90 minutes. The great thing is that every time you get a family to come in and take a look, you get paid! The resort is happy because they have potential clients to preview their resort and vacation ownership program. The customer is happy because they receive $100-$400 worth of incentives just to take a look. In closing I am wondering who Is going to pay for the mess these companies are making out of our country. Why they want to make a dump out of America by shipping their nuclear waste and burning it over here.  Charging outrageous prices for oil stolen fuel from our golf cost and selling it back to you. Yes they are trying to get the well from dumping oil into the gulf but are the more concerned about the detrimental damage it will cost for many years or just about the money they are loosening. It is my opinion it is the latter because all those countries that your government has gotten you involved with hate real Americans.

Taking a trip to Las Vegas is an experience of a lifetime. No matter what time of year you visit Las Vegas there will be a climate there that will be original in some manner, to those who are visiting this beautiful city. In that location will be some stars in the nighttime sky that appears a trifle less shining as likened to the glimmer and glitz that characterized Las Vegas and what has become called "The Strip".

Your vacation to Las Vegas will represent to a greater extent or  to a lesser degree what you make it. The trouble with gaming destinations like these is that if you drop your total allocation of cash in hand within a few hours finding yourself with any cash to eat or do anything else while on vacation. . Before becoming famous for his fire-and-brimstone sermons (including “Sinners in the Hands of an Angry God), Edwards was ordained minister in Northampton in 1727.  He gave rise to a spiritual revival there; between 1733 and 1734, nearly 300 people joined his congregation.  He also worked with famous Great Awakening preacher George Whitfield, helping to organize his “Revival Tour” of 1739-40. A sculpture and portrait on display at the First Churches commemorate Edwards’ historic presence.

                Northampton was also host to some of the action of Shays’ Rebellion.  In August of 1786, 1500 Shaysites marched on the town to stop the courts from foreclosing against indebted farmers.  Daniel Shays himself led a similar march against Springfield the following month.

                If you’re interested in more recent historical figures, celebrated abolitionist Sojourner Truth owned her first house in Northampton, and lived there for almost a decade.  Frederick Douglass was a frequent visitor to the area, where he often spoke at the Northampton Association of Education and Industry.  Calvin Coolidge practiced law in Northampton, and eventually served as the town’s mayor before becoming President of the United States.  Forbes Library, located on West Street, houses the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Library and Museum, and offers visitors information for a self-guided walking tour that includes important sites in Coolidge’s life there.

                Many other historical figures have spent time in Northampton, including Jenny Lind, Alexander Graham Bell, Amelia Earhart and Silvia Plath.  Plath graduated from Smith College with honors in 1955, and returned there to teach from 1957-1959. The college’s Rare Book Room and Archives are home to a significant Sylvia Plath collection including letters, manuscripts and photographs.

* For thousands of years, 90% of all ships' sails and rope were made from hemp. The word 'canvas' is Dutch for hemp; Webster's New World Dictionary.

* 80% of all textiles, fabrics, clothes, linen, drapes, bed sheets, etc. were made from hemp until the 1820s with the introduction of the cotton gin.

* The first Bibles, maps, charts, Betsy Ross's flag, the first drafts of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution were made from hemp; U.S. Government Archives.

* The first crop grown in many states was hemp. 1850 was a peak year for Kentucky producing 40,000 tons. Hemp was the largest cash crop until the 20th Century; State Archives.

* Oldest known records of hemp farming go back 5000 years in China, although hemp industrialization probably goes back to ancient Egypt.

* Quality paints and varnishes were made from hemp seed oil until 1937. 58,000 tons of hemp seeds were used in America for paint products in 1935; Sherman Williams Paint Co. testimony before Congress against the 1937 Marijuana Tax Act.

* Henry Ford's first Model-T was built to run on hemp gasoline and the CAR ITSELF WAS CONTRUCTED FROM HEMP! On his large estate, Ford was photographed among his hemp fields. The car, 'grown from the soil,' had hemp plastic panels whose impact strength was 10 times stronger than steel; Popular Mechanics, 1941.

* Hemp called 'Billion Dollar Crop.' It was the first time a cash crop had a business potential to exceed a billion dollars; Popular Mechanics, Feb., 1938.

* Mechanical Engineering Magazine (Feb. 1938) published an article entitled 'The Most Profitable and Desirable Crop that Can be Grown.' It stated that if hemp was cultivated using 20th Century technology, it would be the single largest agricultural crop in the U.S. and the rest of the world.

The following information comes directly from the United States Department of Agriculture's 1942 14-minute film encouraging and instructing 'patriotic American farmers' to grow 350,000 acres of hemp each year for the war effort:

'...(When) Grecian temples were new, hemp was already old in the service of mankind. For thousands of years, even then, this plant had been grown for cordage and cloth in China and elsewhere in the East. For centuries prior to about 1850, all the ships that sailed the western seas were rigged with hempen rope and sails. For the sailor, no less than the hangman, hemp was indispensable...

...Now with Philippine and East Indian sources of hemp in the hands of the Japanese...American hemp must meet the needs of our Army and Navy as well as of our industries...

...the Navy's rapidly dwindling reserves. When that is gone, American hemp will go on duty again; hemp for mooring ships; hemp for tow lines; hemp for tackle and gear; hemp for countless naval uses both on ship and shore. Just as in the days when Old Ironsides sailed the seas victorious with her hempen shrouds and hempen sails. Hemp for victory!'

Certified proof from the Library of Congress; found by the research of Jack Herer, refuting claims of other government agencies that the 1942 U.S.D.A. film 'Hemp for Victory' did not exist.

Hemp cultivation and production do not harm the environment. The U.S.D.A. Bulletin #404 concluded that hemp produces 4 times as much pulp as wood with at least 4 to 7 times less pollution.

From Popular Mechanics, Feb. 1938:
'It has a short growing season...It can be grown in any state...The long roots penetrate and break the soil to leave it in perfect condition for the next year's crop. The dense shock of leaves, 8 to 12 feet above the ground, chokes out weeds.

...hemp, this new crop can add immeasurably to American agriculture and industry.'

In the 1930s, innovations in farm machinery would have caused an industrial revolution when applied to hemp. This single resource could have created millions of new jobs generating thousands of quality products. Hemp, if not made illegal, would have brought America out of the Great Depression.

William Randolph Hearst (Citizen Kane) and the Hearst Paper Manufacturing Division of Kimberly Clark owned vast acreage of timberlands. The Hearst Company supplied most paper products. Patty Hearst's grandfather, a destroyer of nature for his own personal profit, stood to lose billions because of hemp.

In 1937, Dupont patented the processes to make plastics from oil and coal.  Dupont's Annual Report urged stockholders to invest in its new petrochemical division. Synthetics such as plastics, cellophane, celluloid, methanol, nylon, rayon, Dacron, etc., could now be made from oil. Natural hemp industrialization would have ruined over 80% of Dupont's business.

THE TRICKS

Andrew Mellon became Hoover's Secretary of the Treasury and Dupont's primary investor. He appointed his future nephew-in-law, Harry J. Anslinger, to head the Federal Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs.

Secret meetings were held by these financial tycoons.  Hemp was declared dangerous and a threat to their billion dollar enterprises.  For their dynasties to remain intact, hemp had to go.  These men took an obscure Mexican slang word: 'marihuana' and pushed it into the consciousness of America.

MEDIA MANIPULATION

A media blitz of "yellow journalism" raged in the late 1920s and 1930s.  Hearst's newspapers ran stories emphasizing the horrors of marihuana. The menace of marihuana made headlines.  Readers learned that it was responsible for everything from car accidents to loose morality.

Films like 'Reefer Madness' (1936), 'Marihuana: Assassin of Youth' (1935) and 'Marihuana: The Devil's Weed' (1936) were propaganda designed by these industrialists to create an enemy. Their purpose was to gain public support so that anti-marihuana laws could be passed.

Examine the following quotes from 'The Burning Question' aka REEFER MADNESS:
*a violent narcotic.
*acts of shocking violence.
*incurable insanity.
*soul-destroying effects.
*under the influence of the drug he killed his entire family with an axe.
*more vicious, more deadly even than these soul-destroying drugs (heroin, cocaine) is the menace of marihuana!

Reefer Madness did not end with the usual 'the end.' The film concluded with these words plastered on the screen: TELL YOUR CHILDREN.

In the 1930s, people were very naive; even to the point of ignorance. The masses were like sheep waiting to be led by the few in power. They did not challenge authority. If the news was in print or on the radio, they believed it had to be true. They told their children and their children grew up to be the parents of the baby-boomers.

On April 14, 1937, the Prohibitive Marihuana Tax Law or the bill that outlawed hemp was directly brought to the House Ways and Means Committee. This committee is the only one that can introduce a bill to the House floor without it being debated by other committees. The Chairman of the Ways and Means, Robert Doughton, was a Dupont supporter. He insured that the bill would pass Congress.

Dr. James Woodward, a physician and attorney, testified too late on behalf of the American Medical Association. He told the committee that the reason the AMA had not denounced the Marihuana Tax Law sooner was that the Association had just discovered that marihuana was/is hemp.

Few people, at the time, realized that the deadly menace they had been reading about on Hearst's front pages was in fact passive hemp.  The AMA understood hemp to be a MEDICINE found in numerous healing products sold over the last hundred years.

In September of 1937, hemp became illegal. The most useful crop known became a drug and our planet has been suffering ever since.

Congress banned hemp because it was said to be the most violence-causing drug known.  Anslinger, head of the Drug Commission for 31 years, promoted the idea that marihuana made users act extremely violent. In the 1950s, under the Communist threat of McCarthyism, Anslinger now said the exact opposite. Marijuana will pacify you so much that soldiers would not want to fight.

Today, our planet is in desperate trouble. Earth is suffocating as large tracts of rain forests disappear. Pollution, poisons and chemicals are killing people. These great problems could be reversed if we industrialized hemp. Natural biomass could provide all of the planet's energy needs that are currently supplied by fossil fuels. We have consumed 80% of our oil and gas reserves. We need a renewable resource. Hemp could be the solution to soaring gas prices.

THE WONDER PLANT

Hemp has a higher quality fiber than wood fiber. Far fewer caustic chemicals are required to make paper from hemp than from trees. Hemp paper does not turn yellow and is very durable. The plant grows quickly to maturity in a season where trees take a lifetime.

ALL PLASTIC PRODUCTS SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP SEED OIL.  Hempen plastics are biodegradable! Over time, they would break down and not harm the environment. Oil-based plastics, the ones we are very familiar with, help ruin nature; they do not break down and will do great harm in the future. The process to produce the vast array of natural (hempen) plastics will not ruin the rivers as Dupont and other petrochemical companies have done. Ecology does not fit in with the plans of the Oil Industry and the political machine. Hemp products are safe and natural.

MEDICINES SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP. We should go back to the days when the AMA supported hemp cures. 'Medical Marijuana' is given out legally to only a handful of people while the rest of us are forced into a system that relies on chemicals. Hemp is only healthy for the human body.

WORLD HUNGER COULD END. A large variety of food products can be generated from hemp. The seeds contain one of the highest sources of protein in nature. ALSO: They have two essential fatty acids that clean your body of cholesterol. These essential fatty acids are not found anywhere else in nature! Consuming hemp seeds is the best thing you could do for your body. Eat uncooked hemp seeds.

CLOTHES SHOULD BE MADE FROM HEMP. Hemp clothing is extremely strong and durable over time. You could hand clothing, made from hemp, down to your grandchildren. Today, there are American companies that make hemp clothing; usually 50% hemp. Hemp fabrics should be everywhere. Instead, they are almost underground. Superior hemp products are not allowed to advertise on fascist television. Kentucky, once the top hemp producing state, made it ILLEGAL TO WEAR hemp clothing! Can you imagine being thrown into jail for wearing quality jeans?

The world is crazy...but that does not mean you have to join the insanity.  Get together.  Spread the news.  Tell people, and that includes your children, the truth. Use hemp products. Eliminate the word "marijuana".  Realize the history that created it.  Make it politically incorrect to say or print the M-word.  Fight against the propaganda (designed to favor the agenda of the super rich) and the bullshit.  Hemp must be utilized in the future. We need a clean energy source to save our planet. INDUSTRIALIZE HEMP!

The liquor, tobacco and oil companies fund more than a million dollars a day to Partnership for a Drug-Free America and other similar agencies. We have all seen their commercials. Now, their motto is: 'It's more dangerous than we thought.' Lies from the powerful corporations that began with Hearst are still alive and well today.

The brainwashing continues. Now, the commercials say: If you buy a joint, you contribute to murders and gang wars. The latest anti-hemp commercials say: If you buy a joint...you are promoting TERRORISM! The new enemy (terrorism) has paved the road to brainwash you any way THEY see fit.

There is only one enemy; the "friendly" people you pay your taxes to: the war-makers and nature destroyers. With your funding, they are killing the world right in front of your eyes. HALF A MILLION DEATHS EACH YEAR ARE CAUSED BY TOBACCO.  HALF A MILLION DEATHS EACH YEAR ARE CAUSED BY ALCOHOL.

Ingesting THC, hemp's active agent, has a positive effect; relieving asthma and glaucoma.  A joint tends to alleviate the nausea caused by chemotherapy.  You are able to eat on hemp.  This is a healthy state of being.

The hemp plant is an ALIEN plant.  There is physical evidence that hemp is not like any other plant on this planet. One could conclude that it was brought here for the benefit of humanity.  Hemp is the ONLY plant where the males appear one way and the females appear very different, physically! No one ever speaks of males and females in regard to the plant kingdom because plants do not show their sexes; except for hemp. People are asking why the state can sue the fed’s because there is a amendment that says the Constitution’s supremacy clause allows the federal law to override the state’s law. Which in my option is a shame and used as a clause to pass whatever they want. They used this law to force citizens to buy car insurance which is in direct violation of the constitution where it says that we have the right to go to and fro without any restrictions. Thant means we can travel any road without having a license or insurance or any other kind of restriction.

The reason for that law was to protect their property not ours. Let me explain, someone goes to a car dealer and buys a new car. The car dealer sends your title to the state which is the certificate of origin (true ownership or title). The best ghost tours in America are to be found in Saint Augustine and at the Lighthouse nearby on Anastasia Island.

            A visit to nearby fort Matansas in a small open boat will probably get you a look at Dolphins who like to swim in the bay around the tourists. About an hour down the road at the Blue Springs State Park, manatees make their home in the St. John River and guests are invited to swim near them provided they do not touch the animals.

            The place is Presidents Park. It is nestled about halfway between Colonial Williamsburg and Busch Gardens in Williamsburg. There is no way I can think of to introduce the place to someone without just coming right out and saying they have the 16 foot tall concrete heads of every president from Washington to G.W. Bush on display.

The heads are laid out on an oval circuit where guests walk by and view them. While it sounds weird at first guests to this oft overlooked attraction are always surprised to find they have had an entertaining and educational experience. To put is simply, and I can’t believe I am writing these words, President’s Park is so much more than just giant heads.

At each statue, or bust, you will find a series of signs containing information on each president. The information is color coded to allow students of history to follow a President’s family, religious, political, and military achievements. The bulleted lists make for interesting reading and teach you right away that you don’t know half of what you thought about our commanders in chief. It is strange to say so, but while staring into these gigantic, larger than life faces many people find they have made a personal connection with one or more of these men.

First time visitors to Williamsburg, VA often form the opinion before arriving that this popular destination is a standalone attraction on I-64, an hour out of the way when passing through Richmond, VA on I 95. As a former employee of the Colonial Williamsburg foundation, I have often seen confused guests arrive at the museum’s visitor center with no idea what is in store for them. Most often, I hear, “We just thought we’d walk through on our way to Busch Gardens.” “We should be able to do the whole thing in about an hour.” is another one.

The truth is much more involved. There is a reason why 68% of guests at Colonial Williamsburg are repeat visitors. There are days, not hours’ worth of available at this one location. Guests who drive in expecting to see a good old fashioned “frontier village” where they can spend 10 minutes watching the village smithy make up a horse shoe and be on their way are in for something of an awakening.

            The restored city of Williamsburg sits on about 75 acres. It stretches a mile long by half a mile wide. On this piece of property are hundreds of buildings. 88 of these are originals dating to various periods in colonial history. The remaining buildings are restored, built on records and archeological evidence as closely as possible to bring the entire town of Williamsburg from the eighteenth century back to life. Walking down Duke of Gloucester Street in the middle of the afternoon, you are not in a museum anymore, you are in a town from 1775.

Colonial Williamsburg uses some of these buildings as gift shops and opportunities to show guests what an 18th century grocery store or silver shop might be like. These shops have modern amenities. Your credit cards are welcome as well as modern currency. To visit these facilities and to walk through town there is no charge. Anyone can experience Colonial Williamsburg to some degree, regardless of what they are willing to spend.

            Chimney Rock, is a 535 million year old stone monolith protruding from the side of a North Carolina mountain east of Asheville. The site is the focal point of a massive state park and features heavenly views, boasting a panorama that stretches for up to 75 miles on a clear day.

Compliment the view with a 404 foot high waterfall, most recently seen in the movie “Last of the Mohicans” and you have nature at its most scenic. What makes it all the more tempting to give this park a try is the 26 story elevator built into the mountain that takes you right to the monolith and trailheads. Even the least experienced hiker, or in my case, the least in shape hiker can get close to views and scenery that many people have to climb mountains to enjoy.

            The surrounding area is home to the town of Lake Lure, named for the impressive man made mountain lake which is home to a large resort community and great fishing. The catfish can weigh in at 20 pounds. Believe it or not local guides can even take you to the best spots for waterskiing in the heart of the mountains. Ir you like to take things a little slower, you can ride an inner-tube for miles on the broad river as it snakes through the area.

            The Park partners with local rock climbing guides allowing the visitor with more extreme experiences in mind to indulge themselves. From nearly anywhere in the area one can find something worth climbing. Stables abound locally as well, so if horseback riding sounds fun, you’ll be well taken care of. The area also boasts a couple of fairly challenging golf courses, if that’s your idea of getting close to nature.

The roads running through the area are lined with tiny shops. Anything from fresh fruit, to shiny rock specimens, to local arts and crafts, not to mention food can be had. To truly appreciate the little mountain town feel, you have to visit.

With Asheville, and Cherokee, North Carolina so close, a visit to Chimney Rock and Lake Lure from a local resort or timeshare is as easy as a short drive into the hills. Of all the wonderful things to be said about the area, though, the view is the most remarkable

For very little physical investment, or for that matter, money; you can enjoy the kind of scenery that is usually reserved for hardcore mountain climbers and nature enthusiasts. 

The next time you are passing through western North Carolina, make the side trip. Pack a picnic lunch and dip your feet in the river for an afternoon. I can promise you’ll work hard to find prettier country.

A friend was in the travel agency business, and knowing my wife and I like to travel suggested that we take at least one cruise in our life time. I do not get on airplanes and have really gotten tired of driving  long distances to different  resort locations and board with the same kind of accommodations every year so we decide that we would take a chance.

Not caring to much about being on the ocean either I invited a few of our family members and friends as well. It was my mother and father in-law, and another married couple that was our best friends, also my daughter, wife and I which was seven of us.

 I must mention that the only one that really did not have a super great time was my daughter as she was the only child. So just a suggestion if you are taking a child along make sure you invite a friend  of hers along or that cruise my might not be as much fun as it could have been.

Being it was our first cruise we wanted to be prepared so we started taking motion sickness pills a few days before we actually boarded the ship. Nothing like ruining a vacation by getting sea sick.  I went deep sea fishing one time and was sick for day’s afterword, so before going fishing the next time I took the pills a few days before and felt great the entire time. If you wait until you are on the ship before taking them you will be sick the entire voyage.

The next thing is we packed a change of clothes for every day we were on the ship so we did not have to worry about sending out laundry. It is not as much clothing as you would think as most of the time you are in you bathing suit or shorts and one set of dress clothes if you wanted to go dancing.

The cruise ship has so much to do it was unbelievable. They have a pool where you can sun and go swimming, they have different shows all day, games they play, dancing and if you like to gamble they have places on the ship where you can take chances if you know what I mean.

Now let’s talk about you meals onboard, and the only words I can think of are incredible.  You get the same waiter for your table at every meal. Every meal is a five course and many selections to choose from. Here is a tip, trust your waiter to suggest what he thinks would be the best selection on the menu. That’s what I did and everyone at the table who selected for themselves was disappointed and helping themselves to want was brought to me by our waiter.

I am not going to say too much about our accommodation except they were incredible. We had a room that had windows in it, so if you were in your room you could look out at the beautiful blue green water and at night you could fall asleep watching the stars. It was like heaven as we normally go through life just looking at concrete or grass.

The cruise we took was to the Bahamas and although we did get off the ship for several hours to take in the local atmosphere and sites we really enjoyed getting back on the ship because of all the amenities it had to offer. All in all I would have to say that it was not only an affordable vacation but was one of the best vacations I have ever taken and has remained in my memory more than any other vacation I have ever taken. If you have never taken a cruise you have no idea what you are missing. It’s a vacation you are never too old to take and enjoy

After hearing all the bull about the solar warm up, we like everyone else was afraid to move south because according to the environment experts like Al Nuts Gore we were about ready to fry.  So I stayed there for years until I did my own research and found out that it was all a lie. The man is being sued by 300 scientists for lying and being part of a united nations conspiracy.

So I quit my job and moved down to Williamsburg Virginia where it was quite a bit warmer. When winter came around it was very bearable. The lowest the temperature ever got was about 30 degrees.  Over the years it snowed very little and only a light blanket that only covered the grass areas. It was usually melted about an hour after the sun can up.

Williamsburg is a resort town with about 6 different resorts. Many people come here for vacations or a romantic getaway. In the winter time it is mostly the elderly who come down to get away from the cold up north. Summer time visitors are mostly younger couples who go to Busch Gardens or Colonial Williamsburg for some history and a few go to water parks.

Over the winter months there has always been a steady stream of resort owners arriving anytime during the week to spend some time here in Williamsburg. Also travelers who come down and stay at hotels for 3 day vacations or people from surrounding areas come into town to shop at our big outlet malls or to eat at our many places to dine.

But not this year! The town has been like a Ghost Town for the last several months. All the hotels and resorts have been basically empty. The restaurants and local stores have been empty and everyone in town is trying to hold on until spring. People have been losing their jobs because there are no people in town to cater to.

The reason for this is someone forgot to tell mother earth about the solar heat up.  Not only was this the coldest winter here in Williamsburg but the longest.  And let me say it was not only here but Florida as well as they hit new lows down there along with an enormous amount of crop damage.  We also had some real heavy amounts of snow and ice that stuck around for weeks instead of hours. Not only did we have an unheard of 15 inches of snow in one day but the ice was about 3 inches thick and staid for 2 weeks. It is February at the time of this writing and we have more snow and bad weather coming.

Because it hardly ever snows here people have very little experience driving in it. The first time we got some accumulation we had over 400 road accidents. Of course the news reporters we have today afraid of reporting any real news hyped this kind of stuff up causing fear about traveling, and caused even more lost revenue to a starving community.

I am looking forward to March which is usually a busy time here in Williamsburg Virginia. The town usually starts filling up at the end of February and my hope this year is not different.  If this holds true the town should be busier than ever because of the people who had to delay their getaway because of the really bad weather we had this past year.

So a word to the wise, if you are planning on some kind of getaway or vacation in the next month or two you better book you hotel or resort early this year, as many vacationers are ready to bust out from being locked down because of this past cold harsh winter.

                Hikers traveling the Appalachian Trail know it is there. It’s one of the first places to stop, get a real meal, resupply and rest before resuming the long hike through to Maine. The town has a frontier-style general store that carries everything the through hiker or the visitor out for a day’s excursion could want. If hiking and nature are not your inclination however, you might not know of this little town’s existence, which is a shame.

With all the vacationers traveling to Chattanooga every year to visit resorts and amusement parks, this beautiful little town is a gem that is seldom seen. It lies along the Chattahoochee River, which flows beside its main street for the entire length of the town.

The buildings are all designed to match the style of architecture associated with the Bavarian Alps, and the town is full of gift shops and German restaurants. If your inclination is to try the best that German food has to offer or to enjoy some good old fashioned German beer, look no further than the Hofbrau House.

                If Golf is your thing, three courses make the town a destination. If you are into other outdoor activities, the area offers access to white water rafting, fishing, hiking, camping and mountain biking.

                The Alpine Antique Auto and Buggy Museum is a fun place to take the family, and Mom and Dad will enjoy a visit to the Habersham Winery. Perhaps on the quirky side, but fun for everybody: babies are delivered daily at Baby land General Hospital, the home of the  Cabbage Patch Kids.

Hand crafted quilts from Southern Comfort Quilts, and Pottery from The Willows Pottery make Nacoochee Village just south of town on Ga #75 a shopping experience to rival the glory days of Williamsburg, Virginia’s Pottery Factory. Hand blown glass can be seen  crafted in a little shop along Main Street as well.

            Some time ago I spent a winter in a little town no one has ever heard of called Quartzsite, in western Arizona. If you like the west coast and the night life trying some clubs san Antonio is the way to go.  We went to The Mix and we absolutely loved it. It immediately made it to my top 5 bars in San Antonio. I think this place has everything you could ask for: good crowd, good music, and excellent service. The place was really packed, but had no effect on the bartenders who kept pumping out the booze to keep everyone happy and their glass full.
